Travel

Most travelers get to St. Barths by connecting through St. Martin (Princess Juliana - SXM airport), as this is the cheapest option. JetBlue has the only direct flight between NYC and St. Martin, though other airlines offer connecting flights.

From St. Martin, you can either take a 10-minute flight or a 45-minute ferry to St. Barths.

Option 1: Fly

Winair and St. Barths Commuter operate flights between St. Martin and St. Barths starting at about $250 round trip.

We prefer Winair, as they have more flight times to choose from. They will usually put you on an earlier flight at no extra charge if you arrive at their desk ahead of its departure. They also tend to be flexible about getting you on a later flight if you miss yours. If you choose to fly Winair, they charge for bags on flights from St. Martin, but not from St. Barths, so we recommend not pre-paying to check bags on your return flight.

We recommend leaving at least an hour to get through the St. Martin airport, as you have to clear customs, retrieve any checked bags, check back in, and re-clear security before catching your connecting flight.

Tradewind Aviation also offers semi-private and private flights between San Juan (SJU) and St. Barths (SBH).

Option 2: Ferry

Great Bay Express operates between St. Martin and St. Barths for $110 round trip. They also have a $15 shuttle from St. Martin's Princess Juliana Airport airport to the ferry dock.

Ferries depart from St. Martin at 7:15am, 9:45am, and 5:30pm and St. Barths at 8:30am, 11:00am, and 6:45pm.
